Three injured, sick manatees rescued in summer, returned healthy to the Florida Keys
Three adult male manatees rescued from waters in the Florida Keys earlier this year were returned to a Keys canal Tuesday after being treated and rehabilitated at SeaWorld Orlando.
More than $362k waiting to be claimed at Lee Clerk’s office
Those owed funds have until March 24 to claim the funds. If unclaimed monies have not been claimed for more than a year, they are submitted to the state in accordance with Florida Statutes 717, Disposition of Unclaimed Property.
Lee County will resume tolls on Sanibel Causeway as of Jan. 1
The county had restored tolls Nov. 1 to the Cape Coral Bridge and the Midpoint Bridge after the suspension of tolls on all three bridge shortly before Hurricane Ian’s landfall Sept. 28. The county said the addition of the Sanibel Causeway completes the restoration.
Kindergarten pre-registration deadline extended via online
Pre-registration started late due to the hurricane and in an effort to ensure that every family with incoming kindergartners gets a chance to register early the deadline to register has been extended to January 27.
