Pine Island Bridge concrete pour tentatively set for 2 a.m. Friday
The concrete pour for the Little Pine Island Bridge is now tentatively scheduled for Friday, March 28, at 2 a.m. When work resumes, crews will pour more then 300 yards of concrete for the deck slab, requiring approximately five hours to complete.
Lee County advises residents to keep yards waste-free ahead of potential storms
Lee County is encouraging residents to prepare their yards for potential storms while hurricane season is still young. Trimming trees and branches, thinning foliage and removing items that can be picked up by the wind are recommended by the county.

Lee County will temporary close Dog Beach Park March 1 and 2 for maintenance work
Dog Beach Park, 14436 Bonita Beach Causeway, Bonita Springs, will be closed temporarily Monday, March 2, through Tuesday, March 3, while the Lee County Department of Transportation conducts maintenance work to address erosion issues and improve the park entrance.
Corkscrew Regional Watershed planning prescribed burn today
The South Florida Water Management District plans to conduct a 26-acre prescribed burn in the Corkscrew Regional Ecosystem Watershed (CREW) Management Area in Lee County today.. The burn unit is in the CREW Management Area, approximately 6 miles west of SR 82 and 1.3 miles south of Corkscrew Road. Smoke may be visible in the area of the burn.
