Torres gets life in prison sentence in 2016 murder of Diana Alvarez
The sad and terrifying case of 9-year-old Diana Alvarez came to an end Wednesday with a life sentence in prison given to Jorge Manuel Guerrero Torres after he was found guilty of the child's 2016 kidnapping and murder.Diana disappeared from her Unique Circle home at the Sheltering Pines mobile home neighborhood off U.S. 41 in south Lee County early in the morning of May 29.
Police search for a suspect after 5 people were shot on a Kentucky highway
Schools in several Kentucky counties were closed on Monday as the search continued for Joseph Couch, 32, who authorities say is the suspect in the shooting that occurred Sunday on Interstate 75.

The Florida Sheriff’s Association plans to bring back a controversial program that faced criticism for racial profiling. The group announced it at a meeting in Polk County Monday detailing how they plan to crack down on undocumented immigrants in the state.President of the Florida Sheriff’s Association Bill Prummel announced they are reinstating a street task force program. It gives state and local law enforcement more power under ICE to deport undocumented immigrants.
