The investigation into Special Counsel Scott Bloch is much broader than originally believed. Investigators are looking into whether Bloch abused his authority as the head investigator for government whistleblower claims. A grand jury issued at least 17 subpoenas and the first witnesses from the Office of Special Counsel are scheduled to testify on Tuesday.

Immigration, petition bills filed for special legislative session
On the eve of a special legislative session called by Gov. Ron DeSantis, Republican lawmakers Sunday filed a flurry of bills to crack down on undocumented immigrants and place additional restrictions on the ballot initiative process.The bills, in part, would end in-state tuition at colleges and universities for undocumented-immigrant students known as dreamers; place new requirements on police to help with immigration-enforcement efforts; and dramatically change the petition process for proposed constitutional amendments.

Special Report: Former President Gerald Ford Dies
Gerald R. Ford, the 38th president of the United States and the only one to assume the office without being elected president or vice president, has died. He was 93. Former first lady Betty Ford announced his death Tuesday in a brief statement. "His life was filled with love of God, his family and his country," she said.
