Lawmakers pass trans bathroom bill; DeSantis signing expected
Nearing the end of a legislative session filled with debates about transgender issues, Florida lawmakers on Wednesday passed a bill aimed at requiring people to use bathrooms that line up with their sex assigned at birth.The Republican-controlled Senate voted 26-12 to approve the bill (HB 1521), with the House following a short time later by passing it in a 80-36 vote. The measure is ready to go to Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is expected to sign it

People with employer-based health plans won't have to shop for coverage on the exchanges. Still, the federal health law can affect them. As employers adjust plans to meet new requirements, people can expect to see changes in their coverage.
Manufacturing Discovery Camp educates potential new hires: Moore about Business
Locally and globally, the job category known as “the trades,” has been decreasing in employee numbers over the past several decades. This includes plumbers, HVAC and auto repair techs, as well as those working in some manufacturing positions, like machinists. The Southwest Regional Manufacturing Association is addressing this issue with a “Manufacturing Discovery Camp,” where people can learn about opportunities in the manufacturing field.

More Americans Lack Health Insurance
The number of Americans without health insurance grew to an all time high of 47 million last year, an increase of more than 2 million from a year before. The number of children without health insurance coverage also rose. The Census Bureau figures are likely to raise the stakes in the political debate about health care.
