Lee County begins Ortiz Avenue widening project this month
Lee County’s contractor, OHLA USA, begins work this month to widen Ortiz Avenue from Colonial Boulevard to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. Mental health first aid trainings planned for Lee County
The Florida Department of Health in Lee County is offering monthly mental health first aid trainings for the rest of 2025. Sessions will teach participants to recognize warning signs that someone is in a mental health crisis or struggling with substance abuse, provide support in crisis and non-crisis situations and connect others with mental health resources.
Lee County launches new Hurricane Ian Debris website
On the site, www.leegov.com/debris, residents can learn how types of debris are classified and how they should be separated at the curb accordingly. Residents can track Lee County’s progress in collecting debris from unincorporated areas and see how they can haul their own debris to one of four sites if they choose.
