The Fort Myers Beach Film Festival is raising the curtain this week for five days of screenings, including a full-length feature film shot entirely in Southwest Florida.

Local reporter-turned-filmmaker Tim Ritter shot “Moment of Truth” entirely in Southwest Florida. It’s screening Wednesday evening, helping kick off the festival, which runs through the weekend.

Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., Ritter discusses shooting shooting a movie in Lee County, and the film's long journey to completion. Also joining the program is actor Stu Alexander, who plays the protagonist Jesse in the film.

Festival chair Carla Mandel also joins the program to discuss other films that will be featured at the festival and what fans of independent film need to do to attend some of the screenings
