The world-class musicians of the non-profit chamber music group Sarasota Musica Viva are in the midst of their third full season performing at venues in and around the Sarasota region.  The group is known for introducing audiences to new and rarely performed pieces as well as fresh arrangements of traditional chamber works.

We’ll speak with the organization’s founding artistic director and flutist Linda Bento-Rei about the group and its ambitious schedule of performances coming up in 2018.  Plus, we’ll hear selections from some of Bento-Rei’s recordings including her latest album, “Noel,” which includes some new takes on traditional holiday classics arranged by jazz bassist and composer Robert Nieske and performed with pianist Vytas Baksys.
