On Thursday, May 6 the Coastal & Heartland National Estuary Partnership is hosting the 2021 Southwest Florida Climate Summit. The free virtual summit is open to everyone. It’s a daylong event featuring interactive audience question and answer sessions with experts, to exchange ideas on how best to expand southwest Florida’s capacity to respond to climate challenges, and to build climate resilience.
We get a preview from Jennifer Hecker, Executive Director of the CHNEP, and one of the summit presenters Dr. Mike Savarese, Professor in the Department of Marine & Earth Sciences at Florida Gulf Coast University whose research focuses on the history of environmental change in coastal settings.
Plus, we’ll get this week’s environmental roundup from WGCU’s environmental reporter Valerie Vande Panne.
