Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi is weighing in on Wednesday's deadly church shooting in South Carolina. Bondi says to make sure something like this doesn’t happen in Florida, the community needs to be involved.

“Thank goodness someone is in custody,” said Bondi, during a press conference in South Florida Thursday. “You know, we have to be vigilant and if people hear-- you know, the person charged is 21, and if you hear anyone speaking of any harm that they want to do -- whether you believe them or not, whether you think they’re joking because of their age -- take it seriously and report it to law enforcement. Because we need to partner with the community as well.”

Earlier today, Charleston authorities arrested 21-year-old Dylann Roof, who was taken into custody in North Carolina. Roof, a white man, is suspected of killing nine people at Emanuel AME Church, a historically black church.
