Students for a Democratic Society want to ensure immigrants are welcome at Florida State University. Although not officially a sanctuary city, Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum pushed back on President Trump’s executive order. But SDS secretary Cea Moline says more protections are needed, and there is a lack of trust. "Becoming a sanctuary campus would mean that FSU would protect undocumented students by not allowing ICE agents to conduct raids on campus by making sure that FSU does not release the undocumented status of students to ICE agents," Moline said. "And to make sure that FSU students who are undocumented maintain their in-state tuition status."

SDS is requesting that FSU will block Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers, ICE, from entering campus.
