The March for Equality gathered at the Alliance for the Arts in Fort Myers on Saturday morning. The crowd was peaceful and enthusiastic. Several anti-abortion protesters tried to encroach onto the field near the stage but were stopped by security.

Among the speakers were Democratic gubernatorial candidate Nikki Fried:

"Tallahassee has stopped listening to the people. So we need to scream louder. We need to march longer. We need to march harder,” Fried said.

Participants marched near the Alliance for the Arts then gathered back at the stage. Speakers encouraged participants to register to vote and advocated for such issues as affordable housing, equality for women, abortion rights, and rights for LGBTQ+ people.
