Hurricane Sandy slammed into the northern Atlantic Coast last night killing at least 15 people and leaving thousands without electric power in one of the nation's most densely populated regions.
Florida has had plenty of experience with hurricanes and tropical storms that have cost the state billions of dollars in damage over the past 20 years. Economic analyst Hank Fishkind tells WMFE’s Tom Parkinson that hurricanes can have a major economic impact in Florida even when the storm makes landfall thousands of miles away.
