The improving jobless numbers released last week are the latest in a string of reports that seem to show the US economy on the mend.

But economic analyst Hank Fishkind says that while financial conditions are moving in the right direction, they’re moving slowly, and many indicators of a healthy economy are still well below pre-recession levels.
