Florida Delegates Ready to Oust Obama

Mitt Romney is now officially the Republican Party’s presidential nominee. But the Florida delegation to the Republican National Convention is talking less about Romney and more about making sure President Obama is not re-elected.

For Chuck Oakes, a delegate from Sebring, getting the current resident out of the White House is priority one.

“It’s a shame", says Oakes. "It’s an absolute shame that Americans ever elected him to the highest office where he’s a total embarrassment to the world.”

Douglas Rankin of Naples thinks President Obama is trying to bring down America while boosting other countries. Rankin commented, “What he doesn’t understand is what that’ll do to your average American and what it’ll do to the people he’s allegedly trying to help in the third world when there is no more powerful America – at least if he has anything to say about it – to protect them.”

No election in history has been more important than this one for Florida’s youngest delegate.

20 year old Alejandro Capote is a junior at Florida State University, who says, “Opportunity is what brought my family and me here at the age of 6 from Cuba. And I didn’t escape communism to be in a country where we are trying to oppress job creation, opportunity or individual responsibility.”

Capote believes the Romney/Ryan ticket is the one that will get America moving in the right direction for his generation.
