Clinton Stumps for Obama in Orlando

Former President Bill Clinton took the stage at the University of Central Florida Monday morning in a campaign appearance that was supposed to include President Barack Obama.

President Clinton spoke to an enthusiastic crowd on subjects ranging from health care to student loans.
The few thousand people on the UCF Memory mall may have been disappointed to miss President Barack Obama, who flew back to DC because of Hurricane Sandy- but they still gave President Clinton a rousing reception.

The crowd included hundreds of students, and some of the loudest cheers came as Clinton attacked Republican challenger Mitt Romney on the issue of student loan reform.

“He wants to get rid of the guarantees for the student tax credit, and he wants to make college loans more expensive and harder to repay", Clinton said. "On this issue alone, everyone within the sound of my voice should vote for Barack Obama for President of the United States.”

Clinton was introduced by former republican Florida Governor Charlie Crist, who urged the crowd to get out and vote.

U.S. Senator Bill Nelson also spoke, saying President Obama is the right person to reach across partisan lines.
