Buddy Dyer on Governor Bid

With former Governor Charlie Crist’s formal switch to the democratic party speculation about possible gubernatorial primary challengers is heating up.

The top names being floated included not only Crist but Orlando’s Mayor Buddy Dyer. For months political speculators plugged Buddy Dyer the democratic Mayor of Orlando as a top gubernatorial contender.
Dyer hasn’t let himself get pinned down and says he’s been focused on completing his term as Mayor. But Dyer said he’s coming much closer to making a decision.

“Well I have a lot of people ask me about that every day and it’s something that I should seriously consider", said Dyer. "I’ve given myself a timeframe of letting people know one way or the other after the first of the year, cause if I’m going to do it I have to do it, and if I’m not going to do it, I think it’s only fair to everyone else to let’em know I’m not in.”

Other possible Democratic contenders include former gubernatorial candidate Alex Sink, former state senator Dan Gelber and current state Senate Minority leader Nan Rich.
