Fishkind Commentary: Impact of Government Shutdowns on Florida

The government has been partially shut down since midnight Tuesday due to the inability of Congress to reach a budget agreement. Tea Party Republicans in the House said they would only approve budget legislation if it included a provision to delay or de-fund the Affordable Care Act. The Senate found the terms unacceptable.

As negotiations continue, another showdown looms in just two weeks this one over raising the debt ceiling. Economic analyst Hank Fishkind talks to 90.7's Nicole Creston about the increasingly common Congressional stalemates, and the effects on Florida's economy of current and potential future shutdowns.
