It was only three weeks ago when President Obama announced his efforts to try and normalize relations between the United States and Cuba. But since his announcement, there has been a surge in the number of Cuban immigrants attempting to reach the US.
The Coast Guard is ramping up its efforts to try and intercept those making the journey.
