Coast Guard searches for 38 people missing in a suspected human smuggling operation
The Coast Guard said the missing appear to have been part of a "suspected human smuggling venture" that took off from Bimini, a small island in the Bahamas roughly 55 miles east of Miami.

Coast Guard crews located and rescued three overdue boaters, Sunday, near Captiva, after their vessel capsized. A Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater MH-60 helicopter aircrew found the three boaters sitting on top of their capsized vessel in reportedly good health.

Coast Guard aids 15 people in two SWFL water rescues this weekend
U.S. Coast Guard crews from Tampa and Fort Myers were involved in the rescue of 15 people in two separate boating incidents on Saturday and Sunday in Southwest Florida waters.Seven adults and a child were rescued Saturday after their 28-foot boat boat capsized 36 miles off Boca Grande. Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg crews came to the rescue of these boaters.On Sunday, seven boaters were rescued by a Fort Myers Beach U.S. Coast Guard crew after their boat took on water during inclement weather.No injuries were reported in either case.
