We Get a Space Industry Update from Space Reporter Brendan Byrne
This Wednesday SpaceX is planning to launch from Kennedy Space Center with four private astronauts on board for its Inspiration4 mission. It’s the first of its kind, with a crew made up entirely of civilians. FDA Emergency Use Approval of Convalescent Plasma Puts Lee Health Study on Hold
The U.S. Food & Drug Administration recently issued an Emergency Use Authorization for convalescent plasma in part based on studies like one that Lee Health has been participating in. This local trial has been part of Mayo Clinic’s national COVID-19 Convalescent Plasma Study. The FDA approval means the use of convalescent plasma is now on hold at Lee Health.

Encore: Remembering Author Dr. Ben Bova
Science fiction author and editor, Dr. Ben Bova, passed away on November 29, 2020 from COVID-19 related pneumonia and a stroke. Bova wrote more than 120 books of fiction and non-fiction, and was a six-time Hugo Award winner. He was editorial director of Omni Magazine, the editor of Analog Magazine, and he was president of the National Space Society and the Science Fiction Writers of America. We listen back to excerpts from his appearance on Gulf Coast Live on January 3, 2007.

According to Florida's COVID-19 Data and Surveillance Dashboard there have been a total of 1,943 cases of COVID-19 in Lee County as of this morning’s update. Many of those patients were treated at a Lee Health hospital.
