Patronis questions costs of three recent state purchase land deals
Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis suggested the state should have looked again at the prices of three conservation-land deals that totaled $193 million before they were approved Tuesday by Gov. Ron DeSantis and Cabinet members.Patronis said after the Cabinet meeting that a federal judge’s ruling last month in a battle about wetlands permitting has affected the appraised values of the 27,742 acres of agricultural land in Polk, Seminole, Hendry and Collier counties.

"Purple Rain" by Prince: Song of the Day for April 21
Prince died at home from an overdose on April 21, 2016. The Song of the Day, "Purple Rain," the third song released from the same titled movie and soundtrack in 1984, returned to the charts at number three after his death.

What a good friend “Friends” has been for the actors who starred in the popular show, which began its 10-year run on September 22, 1994. Each actor gets 2 percent of that syndication, or $20 million a year. The Song of the Day, 'I'll be there for you" was written by The Rembrandts. But the first band choice was R.E.M.

President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas on November 22, 1963. Sheldon Zoldan’s Song of the day recognizes “The Summer of His Years” as the first song written about his death.
