Ukrainian journalists win a Pulitzer citation for their courage and persistence
At least seven journalists have been killed while covering the war in Ukraine, while many face shelling, shooting and detention on the job. They were recognized by the Pulitzer Prize Board on Monday.
Ukrainian ballet dancer Oleksandr Shapoval is killed on the battlefield
The 47-year old Shapoval volunteered to fight after Russia invaded Ukraine. His unit was recently sent to one of "the hottest zones" in the country, according to The National Opera of Ukraine.

There was surprise and subdued celebration at the White House on Friday, following the unexpected announcement that President Obama is the winner of this year's Nobel Peace Prize. The prize committee recognized Obama for what it called his "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples."
