Artwork from Lee school children available to dress up your ride
The Lee County Tax Collector and the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools have opened an online ordering portal LeeTC.com/Kids-Tag-Art/2023-24. The portal features 3,460 student designs from 42 different schools. All proceeds from the sales go back to participating art teachers to purchase supplies and introduce new techniques, like 3D art, to their students.

Quiet, cool and peaceful — that's not how many students usually describe their big yellow school-buses. But in rural Glades County, students have changed their opinions. Until the 2023-24 school year, Glades County’s school buses were entirely diesel. And the fleet was aging.

FDA Emergency Use Approval of Convalescent Plasma Puts Lee Health Study on Hold
The U.S. Food & Drug Administration recently issued an Emergency Use Authorization for convalescent plasma in part based on studies like one that Lee Health has been participating in. This local trial has been part of Mayo Clinic’s national COVID-19 Convalescent Plasma Study. The FDA approval means the use of convalescent plasma is now on hold at Lee Health.

New Study Links Climate Change to Health & Economic Risks of Outdoor Workers
If no action is taken to reduce emissions by the end of this century, intense heat will cost Florida’s economy roughly $8 billion in lost work every year. And tens of millions of outdoor workers in the U.S. risk losing a collective $55.4 billion dollars in earnings each year by midcentury.
