Scores Killed in Insurgent Attacks in Sunni Triangle
Insurgents in Iraq launch a series of attacks on several cities in the Sunni Triangle around Baghdad, killing nearly 70 people and wounding hundreds more. U.S. officials say the attacks appear to be coordinated and targeted at police stations. Attacks in Baquba and Mosul kill at least three U.S. soldiers. Hear NPR's Deborah Amos.

Asteriod Named For Queen's Freddie Mercury
The asteroid was spotted in 1999, the same year Mercury died at age 45. It was dedicated in honor of what would have been Mercury's 70th birthday. Official designation: Asteroid 17473 Freddiemercury.

'Lucky Larry' The 17-Pound Lobster Goes Free
Estimated to be at least 70 years old, the lobster that was trapped and sold to a restaurant in Connecticut caught a lucky break. Don MacKenzie bought him and sent him back out to sea. For a lobster to live this long and avoid lobster traps, Mackenzie said, he doesn't deserve a bib and butter.

Soft Tissues Recovered from Ancient Dinosaur
A dinosaur bone recently discovered in Montana appears to contain some of the animal's blood vessels and other soft tissues. The bone came from a T. Rex that died some 70 million years ago, and its tissues should be long gone by now. The technique used in this discovery might help find more ancient tissue from long-extinct animals.
