The sad and terrifying case of 9-year-old Diana Alvarez came to an end Wednesday with a life sentence in prison given to Jorge Manuel Guerrero Torres after he was found guilty of the child's 2016 kidnapping and murder.Diana disappeared from her Unique Circle home at the Sheltering Pines mobile home neighborhood off U.S. 41 in south Lee County early in the morning of May 29.

A man suspected of shooting 3 people at a Washington convenience store is found dead
Three people were shot minutes apart in Yakima, Wash., at a Circle K gas station. The suspect then borrowed a phone from a bystander, who later reported hearing him confess to the killings.

Water main break on McGregor repaired; boil advisory continues
A water main break at McGregor Boulevard and San Roberto Circle affected 312 addresses in that area, Fort Myers utility officials said Thursday. The break was repaired late Thursday night.
