The 13th annual Naples International Film Festival kicks off Thursday, Oct. 21 with an opening night presentation of short films. This year’s event, which runs through Oct. 24, features 67 films hailing from 20 different countries in categories including narrative features, documentary features, and short films.

Closing night will include a screening of “Back to the Future,” with the classic film score performed live by the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra.

We’ll take a broad look at this year’s festival offerings with Artis-Naples Executive Vice President David Filner. We’ll meet filmmaker Cheri Gaulke, who directed the film “Miss Alma Thomas: A Life in Color.” We’ll also meet director Dava Whisenant, whose short films “Brief Survey,” and “Photo Op,” will also be featured.
