Florida’s 2014 Teacher of the Year was announced recently at a ceremony in Orlando. The five finalists for the honor included Riverview High School Marine Science teacher Katrin Rudge in Sarasota and Cypress Lake High School Center for the Arts dance,theater history, and English teacher Patricia Gair. We’ll meet Southwest Florida’s 2014 Teacher of the Year finalists for a look at what sets them apart and insight into what makes for an effective educator.
