Record rainfall led to a soggy week for much of Southwest Florida. Portions of Collier, Hendry, and Lee Counties went from drought to deluge in just hours. Flooding shut down Marco Island and Everglades City, and flood watch advisories were in effect for much of the week elsewhere. In the wake of the rain, we'll review what homeowners need to know.
Jeff Huffman, meteorologist for the Florida Public Radio Emergency Network, provides a recap on the rain, just how much was dumped on Southwest Florida, what it means for the state's drought conditions, and if more rain is in the forecast.
Also joining the show is Lewis Golden with The Roofing Brothers of Naples Corp., reviewing how heavy rains can damage homes and what you should look for before proceeding with any repairs.
