Leoma Lovegrove

Internationally acclaimed impressionist-expressionist painter and philanthropist Leoma Lovegrove takes a break from her Matlacha gallery and studio space to join us in our studio.  Her paintings, often characterized by their vibrant colors, have come to exemplify Southwest Florida and in many ways have helped put Southwest Florida on the map.
In addition to the millions of products sold that bear her work through Bealls Department Stores, she’s traveled the world with the Lee County Visitor and Convention Bureau to promote our area to international tourists, and the Lovegrove Gallery and Gardens attract some 500 tourists a day to Matlacha during tourist season.  We’ll get the stories behind paintings in Lovegrove’s latest collection of paintings inspired by Hurricane Irma.  Proceeds from the sale of that collection will benefit local Red Cross hurricane recovery efforts.

We’ll also look ahead to this weekends’ Indie Author Day, hosted at the Lovegrove Gallery, upcoming “My Studio” painting demonstrations at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre in Fort Myers, and a trip to her hometown of Merrillville, IN later this month where she’ll be honored with the dedication of the Leoma Lovegrove Art Loft by the Merrillville, Indiana School Board.
