Ghostbird Theatre Performs Samuel Beckett’s ‘Catastrophe’

We sit down with members of the Ghostbird Theatre Company ahead of their final performance this season: Samuel Beckett’s play, “Catastrophe.”  The location for this one night only performance May 4 won’t be announced until the last minute, which is big part of what this unique theatre company is all about.  Ghostbird is the only theatre company in the American South that is fully dedication to creating site-specific performances.

Whether company members are taking on a classic play or unveiling a new original work, the physical venue, its history and aesthetics are always an integral part of their intimate and immersive productions.  We will explore the history and interpretations of this politically themed comedy with founding company member, actor and musician Katelyn Gravel.  We’ll also be speaking with fellow founding company member Jim Brock who also teaches Literature at Florida Gulf Coast University as well as director, playwright and actor Barry Cavin who is a professor of Theatre at FGCU.
