This month’s Versed in Florida is with Miami poet Mia Leonin. She teaches creative writing at the University of Miami. She has published poetry and creative nonfiction in numerous journals and reviews. Leonin is the author of three poetry collections including her latest called Chance Born and a memoir. She writes about Spanish-language theater and culture for the Miami Herald, New Times, and other publications. And Leonin tells WGCU’s Amy Tardif that living in South Florida allows language to enter into her writing often.
