A more efficient way to raise aquaculture.These were just a few of the winners of the Edison Best New Products announced last week at the Edison Awards in downtown Fort Myers.

Area students invited to meet Black innovators Tuesday night at the youth innovation night features modern day heroes, Latimer Fellows and seeks to ‘Unleash Your Super Powers’.

A popular part of the Edison Awards is the Young Edison Challenge, which is open to students from around the world. Out of the 60 applications, two Naples high school students were winners for their innovations: one received a bronze medal, the other was named a "Game Changer" for its global impact.

Innovators and scientists recently traveled from around the world to Fort Myers hoping to earn top honors at the Edison Awards for their inventions and new products. This year the Edison Awards also honor important Black innovators as they present the inaugural class of the Lewis Latimer Fellowship Program.
