"I drive down Summerlin Road maybe three times a week so I decided to look up who the road was named after. Interesting character for sure. ... People may be interested in history of the area and the cattleman behind Summerlin Road."

A federal court judge in Fort Myers ruled against a consortium of Environmental advocacy groups Monday in a lawsuit against the National Park Service and a Texas oil company.  The lawsuit was an attempt to prevent seismic testing for oil and gas reserves in Big Cypress National Preserve

Members of Southwest Florida’s LGBTQ community and LGBT-friendly business owners celebrated a ribbon cutting Thursday evening for the region’s newest business networking organization: The Southwest Florida Harmony Chamber of Commerce.  The chamber was created to promote networking within the region’s LGBT friendly businesses and to promote economic opportunities for chamber members.

Chamber members also aim to promote Southwest Florida as an LGBT-welcoming tourist destination.
