Analysts See Troubling Trends In Florida Budget

Governor Rick Scott signed off on an $88.7 billion budget plan for the upcoming fiscal year quicker than many expected. But, that hasn’t prevented the nonprofit organization TaxWatch from releasing their annual Budget Turkey Watch Report. The group says it sees some troubling trends. 

Fort Lauderdale’s War Memorial Auditorium, inside Holiday Park, has been hosting gun shows seven times a year for the last 30 years. On Tuesday, the City Commission announced at a conference meeting that it’s looking to end those shows later this year.

 

The Solar Foundation says solar jobs are on the rise in the Sunshine State.

Tallahassee Commissioner Gil Ziffer is endorsing Gwen Graham for Governor and the move sparked backlash  from his colleague, Mayor Andrew Gillum who is also seeking the Democratic nomination.

Florida Tourism Numbers Hit New High In 2017

Hurricane Irma kept Florida from reaching a goal of 120 million visitors last year but didn’t stop the state from hitting a new single-year tourism high, according to numbers released Tuesday by Gov. Rick Scott.
