Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz is moving forward to address problems with the Affordable Care Act (ACA) despite ongoing attempts by Republicans to repeal and replace it.

Wasserman Schultz met with an advisory panel of South Florida healthcare providers at Nova Southeastern University in Davie Tuesday to hear their concerns with the ACA and proposed solutions.

Bipartisan members of Congress are busy working on ways to fix the ACA, even if  the effort is not officially sanctioned, she said.

Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz called the Trump administration's immigration policies "abhorrent and horrific" Thursday  morning after a private roundtable with Miami-area immigrant advocates.

"There has been fear sown through our immigrant community... causing them to fear interacting with any government entity," said Wasserman Schultz.

Representatives from Catholic Charities, FANM or Haitian Women of Miami, the American Immigration Lawyers Association and other groups were among those who met with Wasserman Schultz at her Sunrise office.

Vice President Joe Biden met with more than two dozen South Florida Jewish leaders Thursday to soothe fears about a White House deal to monitor the Iranian weapons programs.

The deal would end trade and foreign aid restrictions in exchange for international inspections of Iranian nuclear sites.
