Are You In An Evacuation Zone? Here Is How To Know

Hurricane Dorian is expected to hit Florida on Labor Day as a extremely dangerous Category 4 storm, the National Hurricane Center announced Thursday, but its winds and rain will arrive earlier.

Gov. Ron DeSantis has declared a state of emergency for all 67 counties in Florida.

Now it's time for Floridians to prepare, which includes knowing if you live in an evacuation zone and making plans in case you are asked to leave your home. Here is how to know, for all four south Florida counties: Miami-Dade, Broward, Monroe and Palm Beach.

If you live in Miami-Dade County, you can check if you are in an evacuation zone here. It is an interactive database that will give you the result according to your address. Here is also the complete map of evacuation zones and routesin the county:

Broward County residents can check the evacuation zones here and in the map below, which also includes the evacuation routes recommended by the County.

Monroe County residents can check the evacuation zones here. The map also includes recommended evacuation routes.

If you live in Palm Beach County, you can check the evacuation zones here. They are mostly along the coast and in the areas around Lake Okeechobee. The map also includes evacuation routes.
