City crews and residents in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, have been stacking sandbags and building barriers as the Cedar River swells beyond its banks in the state. Thousands have been evacuated from their homes and businesses.
The city saw record flooding in 2008 and officials hope the lessons learned in that natural disaster will help prevent more damage this time.
