Florida State University President John Thrasher is weighing in on President Trump’s decision to end a program that protects undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as kids from deportation.

Last year, Thrasher joined hundreds of university presidents in asking Trump to protect DACA, or the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. Now, he says his position “has not changed.”

In a letter to FSU students, faculty, and staff, Thrasher states many beneficiaries of DACA are promising college students or recent graduates—who only know life in America. And, they should be able to pursue their dreams.

During what he calls this “period of uncertainty,” Thrasher says he intends to help these students with resources and other services.

He says FSU does not collect information on individuals’ immigration status, except when required to do so by law.
