Governor Rick Scott is proposing a 10 percent pay raise for Florida’s juvenile detention and juvenile probation officers.
The Governor is recommending $8 million in pay raises for the more than 2,000 officers who work in Florida’s juvenile justice system.
That’s in addition to the $30 million Scott wants in the budget for pay raises for the state’s law enforcement officers as well as correctional officers.
It’s unclear how much money will be in the budget for raises during this upcoming legislative session, as Florida lawmakers will have to deal with the fallout from Hurricane Irma.
