Triple Cold Front Whammy Set to Put the Big Chill on South Florida

Tuesday's temperatures in the low 80s are the last bit of tropical warmth South Florida will feel for a few days. No less than three back-to-back cold fronts are expected to blast us with some wintry weather. The first front moved through Florida last night. Then a second, stronger front will move through tonight and bring lows in the mid to upper 40's.

National Weather Service meteorologist Kim Brabander says arctic air masses moving south from Canada are responsible for putting the kibosh on our sunbathing."And if the push is strong enough they will move all the way to South Florida. And that's what's happening with this case", explained Brabander. "This air mass is originating across the Gulf of Alaska, and then most of Canada, across the eastern U.S. and down into Florida, then."

The chilliest weather will be hitting South Florida on Friday morning, with temperatures in the low to mid-forties. The third cold front will move into our region early Saturday morning bringing lower than normal temperatures, before warming up slightly to about 70 degrees.

But forecasters say they already see a fourth cold front waiting in the wings that will blow into South Florida the middle of next week.
