Fishkind Commentary: Census Figures Show Rising Poverty in Florida

The US Census Bureau has released new figures showing a steep decline in median household incomes in Florida. An analysis of the census data also shows about one-sixth of Floridians living in poverty last year. It's the 4th consecutive year that the poverty rate has increased both nationally and statewide.

Economic analyst Hank Fishkind discussed the new numbers with WMFE’s Tom Parkinson. He says the median household income in Florida is considerably lower now than it was five years ago.
