Collier Schools Superintendent on District's Reopening Plan

collierschools.com

Public schools are back open today in Charlotte, Lee, and Collier Counties. School districts have been working on plans for how best to safely reopen since in-school learning abruptly ended back in mid-March.

In Charlotte County students can attend school five days a week for face to face learning, they can choose Charlotte Virtual School, or be home schooled. Lee and Collier Counties added a fourth choice, called Lee Home Connect, or Classroom Connect in Collier County, which are both real time virtual learning on a schedule.

To get an overview of what’s happening in Collier County, and what plans are in place to protect students, teachers, and school staff we spoke with Dr. Kamela Patton, superintendent of Collier County Public Schools.
