Many pet owners will tell you caring for and interacting with their pet keeps them healthy and young, but what can the human-animal bond really do for pets and their owners? It turns out research is finding animals can not only make us more happy and relaxed, but can improve cognitive function, social skills, and even benefit our physical health. The Brody Project and Moorings Park Retirement Community in Naples host an education forum Saturday February 16th titled How Animals Help People Heal. We’ll find out more about the human-animal bond with the Brody Project’s executive director, Karen Lasker along with keynote speaker, Dr. Alan Beck of Purdue University’s School of Veterinary medicine.
