Deterring Youth Offenders in Southwest Florida

Community leaders in North Port are looking to adopt a program aimed at keeping youth offenders out of the juvenile justice system and providing alternatives to arrest for kids who commit minor crimes. We’ll take a closer look at those efforts, as well as the Neighborhood Accountability Boards and Civil Citation Programoffered through the Charlotte County Department of Human Services which could serve as a model for the city of North Port.
