Hurricane Preparedness

The six month Atlantic Hurricane Season officially gets underway June 1. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Climate Prediction Center is calling for a less active season than predictions for recent years’ past, but emergency management experts Florida residents not to become complacent about their risk and about storm preparation. Our panel of experts will explore storm predictions for the coming season, how local emergency operation centers and power utilities are preparing, and what all Florida residents should do to prepare in the event of a major storm.
