Democrat Larry Aguilar had been campaigning to represent Florida’s State House District 79 which includes Lehigh Acres and portions of North Fort Myers. Incumbent Matt Caldwell faces Republican challenger Matt Miller in the August 24th primary election.
Whoever wins the primary would have had to face Aguilar in the November general election, but the Florida Division of Elections has kept Aguilar’s name off the ballot, saying his qualifying paper work didn’t reach Division of Election staffers before the June 20th deadline. Aguilar has filed a lawsuit against Sec. of State Ken Detzner alleging his qualifying documents were received on time and were mishandled by elections staffers. We’ll take a closer look at the case and prospects Aguilar getting his name back on the general election candidate roster.Guests:
