Charting Florida's Minority 'Trailblazers'

As Florida's population has grown in the last half-century, it's also become more diverse. Now a new book from University of Florida Press chronicles the men and women who make up this racial and ethnic diversity and their accomplishments, tracking the last fifty years of Florida minority trailblazers.

Monday at 1:30 p.m. on Gulf Coast Live, political science professor, author, and political pundit Susan MacManus talks about her new book, "Florida's Minority Trailblazers: The Men and Women Who changed the Face of Florida Government." She also details the efforts she and her researchers went to in order to secure interviews with some aging trailblazers, and what their struggle teaches us about how we govern.
