Dan Navarro is a singer/songwriter whose career started as a songwriter, most often with Eric Lowen, for artists including Pat Benatar (they wrote “We Belong”) The Bangles, Jackson Browne, The Temptations, Dionne Warwick and more. In the 1990s and 2000s, Dan and Eric recorded and toured as the acclaimed acoustic duo Lowen & Navarro. Dan has a parallel career as a voice actor and singer, in films including Happy Feet, Rio, The Lorax, and many more. Most recently, he sang on six Lin-Manuel Miranda songs in the Disney Film ENCANTO. He’s also done voice work for many TV shows including Family Guy and American Dad, and for video games and TV commercials. Dan’s latest album, "Horizon Line" was produced by multiple Grammy®-winner Jim Scott who’s worked with the likes of Tom Petty, Wilco, and the Dixie Chicks. He was in town to play a gig at the Americana Community Music Association in Fort Myers so graciously stopped by our studio with his guitar to give us his three Song Stories.

Alexander Goldstein was born in Moscow in 1948 into a family of Bolshoi Theater Orchestra Musicians. He began his studies at the age of 6 at one of the most prestigious music educational centers in the world, The Gnessin School of Music in Moscow. Sixteen years later, he completed his music education by graduating at The Gnessin Academy of Music with a master's degree in conducting and French horn. He started professionally composing music in 1976 in Moscow, and has now composed music scores for 26 feature films, two silent classics, approximately 300 documentary films, animations, countless radio and television shows, circus and stage shows, commercials and sports programs in the U.S. and abroad.

Jazmyn Hunter is the first-ever City Curator for Sofar Sounds, a movement that creates intimate concerts with local artists in nontraditional settings, in more than 400 cities around the world. After recently moving to Ft. Myers and falling love with the local music scene there, she’s made it her personal mission to disprove the myth that Fort Myers is boring.

Liz Cochran is owner of Stellar Records in Fort Myers. Born and raised in New York, she quickly became immersed in the Southwest Florida music scene when she moved here when she was 20 years old. She's a buyer, seller, collector, lover, and advocate for listening to new and vintage music on vinyl.

Nick Walters grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and graduated from Miami University in Ohio where he got his degree in Finance, and that’s where he started his career. But, during his senior year in college he took a wine tasting course and it opened his eyes, mind, and heart to the world of wine. After graduating he spent three years in corporate banking while wine remained a hobby on nights and weekends. He made a huge pivot and joined the team at Eleven Madison Park in New York City in 2020. Now, as a Sommelier there, he helps to oversee one of the most awarded wine and beverage programs in the world and gets to live his passion every single day.

John Donvan has been host and moderator of Open to Debate (formerly Intelligence Squared U.S.) since 2008. He is also an author and four-time Emmy Award winning journalist who during his career reported for ABC, CNN, and PBS, including multi-year postings in Moscow, London, Jerusalem, and Amman, and he spent one term as chief White House correspondent for ABC News. His 2016 book, "In a Different Key: The Story of Autism" was a New York Times bestseller and a Pulitzer Prize Finalist — there is also a PBS documentary of the same name based on it.

Eli & Fur are DJs and electronic music producers originally from London. The duo’s debut track "You’re So High" reached the top 3 on Hype Machine in 2013 and has since received more than 73 million views on YouTube. They’ve performed regularly around the world at clubs, and at festivals including Coachella, Tomorrowland, and Glastonbury; and they recently relaunched their own record label, NYX Music.

Samantha Uzbay is a Producer and Director of Business Development at Premier Music Group, a firm that oversees the music for film, television, advertisements, and more. Most recently, she contributed to the GRAMMY-nominated For the Birds: The Birdsong Project, a 242-piece collection of original music, poetry, and art, including works by Yo-Yo Ma, Mark Ronson, Beck, and others, all inspired by birdsong to benefit birdlife. Samantha is also a professional violist and violinist who earned her B.A. in Viola Performance from Boston University's College of Fine Arts and studied at the Royal College of Music in London and the Manhattan School of Music.

Eddie is a self-taught drummer and filmmaker who has managed to create a career from both of his passions. He is the founder and director for the Sugarshack Music Channel, where both his love for music and cinematography come to life. After a decade of bringing people together around live music, which he and his team immaculately film and produce in a remarkably chill and groovy space in Bonita Springs — it’s actually his house and its porch — they recently broke ground on their new live music restaurant concept just down the road, with plans to expand to other music cities around the country and world.

Rebecca Shaw and Ben Kronengold are both comedy writers just coming off of a 2-year stint on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, where they were the youngest writers in late night television. They also have several new shows in the works. Their new book, called “Naked in the Rideshare” is a collection of stories about the different stages of life, from childhood to college to adulthood. One of the blurbs on the jacket comes from Will Ferrell, who describes it as “Incredibly original, bizarre, and funny.”
