COVID-19 Federal Relief Funds

  • State health officials reported 2,590 new COVID-19 cases, Wednesday, bringing Florida's total to 690,499 cases. The Florida Department of Health also reported 203 new coronavirus-related deaths, Sept. 23, increasing the statewide death toll to 13,782 fatalities. Wednesday's reported number of deaths is the highest it's been in nearly two weeks.
  • State health officials reported 1,838 new COVID-19 cases, Monday, bringing Florida's total to 648,269 cases.Sept. 7 marked the lowest single-day increase in reported new infections in Florida since June 15, but whether the Labor Day holiday weekend will result in a surge in new infections, as the state experienced about a week after the July 4th holiday, remains to be seen.The Florida Department of Health also reported 22 new coronavirus-related deaths, Monday, bringing the statewide death toll to 12,023 fatalities since the beginning of the pandemic.
  • State health officials reported 2,402 new cases of COVID-19, Wednesday, increasing the statewide total to 633,442 cases. The Florida Department of Health reported 127 new coronavirus-related deaths, Sept. 2, bringing the statewide death toll to 11,651 fatalities.Of the 4,681,135 COVID-19 tests that have been reported in Florida so far, the overall positivity rate continues trending downward to its current rate of 13.40%.
  • The Florida Department of Health reported 1,885 new cases of COVID-19, Monday, marking the ninth consecutive day of fewer than 4,000 cases and the lowest single-day increase in reported cases since June 15.State health officials also reported 68 new deaths of Florida residents, Aug. 31, increasing the statewide death toll to 11,331 fatalities.
  • State health officials reported 3,220 new cases of COVID-19, Wednesday, increasing Florida's total to 608,722 cases. The Florida Department of Health also reported 153 new coronavirus related deaths, Aug. 26, bringing the statewide death toll to 10,872 fatalities.Wednesday marked the fourth consecutive day health officials reported fewer than 4,000 new cases of the virus in a day. The last time reported new cases were that low was June 16-19.
  • State health officials reported 4,115 new cases of COVID-19, Wednesday, increasing the statewide total to 584,047 cases. Wednesday marked the fourth time this week, the Florida Department of Health reported fewer than 5,000 new cases of the virus in a day.Health officials also reported 174 coronavirus-related deaths, Aug. 19, bringing the state's death toll over the 10,000-death threshold with 10,067 fatalities.
  • Collier County began accepting another round of applications for CollierCares On Monday. The program provides federal relief funds for people experiencing financial hardship resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • State health officials reported 219 new coronavirus-related deaths, Tuesday, increasing the statewide death toll to 9,758 fatalities since the start of the pandemic. Tuesday marks the tenth consecutive day the Florida Department of Health reported more than 200 COVID-19 related deaths in a single day.Health officials also reported 3,838 new cases of the virus, Aug. 18, bringing the statewide total to 579,932 cases. Tuesday marked the third consecutive day health officials reported fewer than 4,000 new cases of the virus in a day. The last time that happened was June 21-23. Tuesday was also the 23rd consecutive day the health department reported fewer than 10,000 new cases in a day.
  • State health officials reported 6,236 new COVID-19 cases, Thursday, increasing the statewide total to 557,137 cases. Aug. 13 marked the 18th consecutive day the state has reported fewer than 10,000 new cases of the virus in a day.The Florida Department of Health also reported 148 new coronavirus-related deaths, Thursday, bringing the statewide death toll to 8,913 fatalities since the beginning of the pandemic.
  • State Health officials reported a new single-day record high number of coronavirus-related deaths, Tuesday. The Florida Department of Health reported 276 deaths, Aug. 11, increasing the statewide death toll to 8,685 fatalities. The previous record was 257 deaths on July 31.The health department also reported another 5,831 new cases of COVID-19, Tuesday, bringing Florida's overall total to 542,792 cases.
